Winning Argentine Hearts & Minds

We advocate for capital transfer based on seven key principles:

Regional Development: Relocating the capital will promote extensive regional development by shifting the political, administrative, and economic focus away from Buenos Aires. This will encourage investment and infrastructure development in other regions of Argentina, reducing historical disparities between the existing capital city and previously neglected regions of the country, while simultaneously stimulating economic growth nationally.

Economic Stimulus: A unique opportunity to stimulate economic growth through infrastructure development, construction projects, and job creation. A new capital city will create significant inward investment opportunities for investors, drive growth across several key national sectors, and diversify Argentinas economy beyond the historic dominance of Buenos Aires, contributing to the overall prosperity of the nation and its provinces.

Resilience and Security: Buenos Aires is located in a vulnerable coastal area prone to natural disasters such as floods and storms. Relocating the capital to a more geographically stable location could enhance Argentina's resilience to natural hazards and improve the security of governmental operations, ensuring continuity of governance in the face of catastrophic environmental emergencies and the effects of global warming.

National Unity: Establishing a new capital city will symbolise Argentina's commitment to fostering national unity, identity, and cohesion. By creating a shared space that represents all regions of the country, Argentina can reinforce its sense of collective Argentine identity and pride, transcending historical regional divisions and promoting a stronger sense of belonging among Argentine citizens from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Long-term Planning and Sustainability: A new capital city could be designed and developed with sustainability and long-term planning in mind. By incorporating modern urban planning principles, green technologies, and efficient infrastructure, Argentina could create a model city that serves as a showcase of innovation, environmental stewardship, and quality of life for its citizens, setting the standard for urban development in the country.

Improving Anglo Argentine Relations: The capital relocation project is an opportunity to foster cultural exchange through educational and artistic collaborations, strengthening economic ties via trade agreements, and promoting dialogue to address disagreements and facilitate a nuanced understanding among Argentinians regarding the sovereignty status of the Falkland Islands as recognised under British governance.

Legalisation Of Marijuana: The new Argentine President Milei is known to be a consumer of marijuana and supports its eventual legalisation in order to generate significant tax revenue for the government, which can then be allocated towards public services, healthcare, and education, while simultaneously alleviating pressure on the criminal justice system by reducing the number of imprisoned non-violent drug offenders.
